William E. “Bill” Stiner, 76, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017, surrounded by family. Born on December 13, 1940, in Karthaus, he was the son of the late William C. and Gertrude E. Royer Stiner. On June 30, 1962, in Clarence, he married Sandra Jean Gomola.
Bill was a 1959 graduate of Clearfield High School. He was a Supervisor at Textron Lycoming, retiring in January 1996. He was of the Catholic faith. Bill served in the US Navy and reserves.
Bill enjoyed time with his family, bowling, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bill is survived by his wife Jean, their two daughters; Denise M. Stiner and Sherie L. Stiner both of Williamsport, their son; Kevin Rossman and his wife, Shannon, of Auburn and one grandson, Kyle Rossman.
Bill is also survived by four sisters; Rae Hockenberry of Philipsburg, Judy Josephson of Grassflat, Linda Nelson and her husband, Jim, of Grassflat, and Cathy Stiner of Morrisdale, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister; Audrey Young.
Visitation with family and friends will be on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11am at the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence with Father David Perry officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery.
A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11am at the St. Ann Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Rd, Williamsport with Father John Victoria officiating.
