Sharon E. Moyer, 71, of Spring Mills, was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Born on October 3, 1946, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the Herbert and Lanette Smith Hillard. She married Larry R. Moyer in 1962. Larry passed away on April 10, 2008.
Sharon attended the Bald Eagle Area High School. She was very proud that she earned her GED at the age of 65. She was of the protestant faith. She was an inspector at Jostens Publishing Co in State College, retiring after many years of service.
Sharon enjoyed fishing, swimming, playing bingo, cleaning her house, and being with her dogs. She looked forward to watching Penn State football on TV. She also enjoyed feeding the birds, and watching the cardinals and humming birds, and working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed spending time on her porch with her favorite neighbors and friends. She loved organizing family picnics by the creek. Her favorite pastime was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sharon was a member of the VFW Post 9575 in Potters Mills, and an Auxiliary member of the same post, and a member of the Centre Hall American Legion Post 779.
Sharon is survived by three daughters; Christine I. Moyer of Danville, Angelique R. Hunter and her husband, Christopher, of Berlin, MD and Anita “Buggy” Yearick of Bellefonte, and one brother, Franklin Hillard of Pleasant Gap. She is also survived by her two grandchildren; Allison P. Hunter and Jay B. Moyer, her best friend, Sunshine the dog, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 2-4pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 228 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Centre Hall. Memorial service will follow at 4pm with her brother in law, Rev. Bradley Dixon, officiating. Burial will be private.
