Obituary for James A "Jim" Lowe

James A "Jim"  Lowe
James A. Lowe, 81, of Bellefonte, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on August 27, 1936, in Sanborn, he was the son of the late Austin and Tressie J. Peters Lowe. On November 6, 1954 in Clearfield, he married Marjorie H. McCreadie. Marjorie passed away on October 6, 2006.
James attended the Clearfield High School. He was a founding member of the Faith Alive Fellowship Church in Spring Mills, where he served as a board member for many years. He was the General Manager at Marrara’s Cleaners in State College, having over 40 years of service before retiring.
James was involved in the prison ministry. His faith was strong and his church life was very important to him. He enjoyed Rail Fanning and watching wildlife. He loved his two cats, Remey and Happy.
James is survived by his three sons; Stacy J. Lowe and his wife, Kathleen, of Boalsburg, Duane B. Lowe and his wife, Candace, of Rebersburg, and Michael S. Lowe of Bellefonte. Also surviving are; two brothers, John J. Lowe and his wife, Helen, of Elderton, and Herbert A. Lowe and his wife, Louise, of Sanborn, one sister, Faye L. Willy and her husband, Harry, of Madera, three grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by one sister, Tressie Lowe and one granddaughter, Jessie Dashem.
Memorial service will be on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11am at the Faith Alive Fellowship Church in Spring Mills. Visitation with family will be one hour prior the service at the church. Burial will be private at the Baughman Cemetery in Sanborn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc, PO Box 579, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
