Walter D. Prebosky, 83, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the UMPC Hospital in Altoona. Born on May 10, 1933, in Moshannon, he was the son of the late Charles and Betty Kasuba Prebosky.
Walter is a 1952 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. He worked for Corning Glass State College, retiring in 1991 with over 25 years of service.
Walter was enlisted in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his service.
Walter was a member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time at home. His favorite pastime was watching television, especially old western shows.
Walter is survived by his two daughters; Melinda J. Ishler and her husband, Wendell and Melody A. Kitchen and her husband, Michael, both of Bellefonte, one grandson, Dillon M. Kitchen. Also surviving are his two sisters; Ann Seprish of Snow Shoe and Ruth Urbanik of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with family and friends will be on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm, at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St., Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11am at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe with Father Mark R. Reid officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Snow Shoe with full military honors.
